A Piedmont family was robbed early Sunday morning in their Park Boulevard home by two men who broke in through the front door, Piedmont Police Chief John M. Hunt III said in a press release Monday.
One of the robbers was armed with a gun, but the victims were not injured, police said.
According to police, Piedmont police received a 911 call at 4:11 a.m. from a woman who lives in the 4800 block of Park Boulevard. She said that she had been robbed and that the intruders had left the house.
The robbers, described as two adult men wearing black "hoodies," broke in the door and confronted the family of four, who were coming out of their upstairs bedrooms, police said.
The intruders told the family to lie on the ground, police said. The victims complied and the robbers searched the home, taking an iPhone, iPad, laptop and wallets with cash and IDs, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective George Phifer at 510-420-3013.
