Piedmont Police Chief Rikki Goede met with Oakland's Interim Police Chief Sean C. Whent this week to discuss collaboration between the two departments — and, possibly, scoop up a little ice cream.
Oakland City Administrator Deanna Santana described the meeting in her May 24 weekly report to the Oakland City Council. Here's what she wrote:

On Wednesday, May 22, Interim Oakland Police Chief Sean C. Whent met with Chief Rikki Goede of the Piedmont Police Department at historic Fentons Creamery on Piedmont Avenue to discuss continued collaboration and visions for crime reduction and community safety in their cities. Both chiefs committed to share resources and continue networking together.
