Police Blotter: 3 More Home Break-ins Plus One Attempt

The Piedmont police blotter from noon of April 22 through April 25 includes three more residential burglaries and an attempted break-in, the arrest of a man seeking entry to a home for sale and a wine that disappeared while unloading groceries.

Incidents highlighted in the blotter below were recorded in the Piedmont Police Department log. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Monday, April 22

Found cash – At 4:44 p.m., a woman came to the police station and reported finding cash at Vista and Highland avenues.

Non-injury accident – A non-injury accident involving two vehicles was reported at 6:14 p.m. in the parking lot at 345 Highland Ave. (Editor's note: that address is the Bank of America.)

Tuesday, April 23

Auto vandalism – At 1:16 p.m., a man in the 200 block of Parkview Avenue reported vandalism to a vehicle.

Mystery animal in yard – At 1:31 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of Arbor Drive reported an unknown animal in the backyard.

Warrant arrest – The arrest and cite release of a person on an outstanding warrant from the San Francisco Police Department was logged at 9:48 p.m.

Wednesday, April 24

Skunk trapped – A "skunk trapped in the lower bowl" was reported at 12:23 p.m. at 898 Red Rock. (Editor's note: 898 Red Rock Road is the address of the Piedmont Corporation Yard.)

Bottle of wine stolen – At 4:21 p.m., a woman in the first block of Cambridge Way reported 30 minutes earlier two men came to her door advertising a gardening business while she was unloading groceries. She noticed a bottle of wine was missing from her groceries.

Non-injury accident – A non-injury accident at 711 Highland Ave. was reported at 5:58 p.m. The parties exchanged information.

Residential burglary – A burglary was reported at 6:06 p.m. by a man in the 100 block of Sunnyside Avenue. The back door had been kicked in sometime during the previous two hours.

Thursday, April 25

Attempted break-in – At 5:15 a.m., a man in the 900 block of Rose Avenue reported that someone tried to break in and broke a window pane on the front door.

Arrest – At 7:52 a.m., a man whose home is for sale in the first block of Scenic Avenue reported that a man about 20 years old asked if he could look inside the home. The resident called back five minutes later saying the young man came back and was standing outside the door. A responding officer arrested the young man.

Residential burglary – At 4 p.m., a man in the 200 block of Hillside Avenue reported that the home has been rifled through while the occupants were out between 10 a.m. and noon. It was not immediately known if anything was taken.

Residential burglary – At 10:11 p.m., a person in the 900 block of Rose Avenue reported that someone broke into the home sometime during the day.
