Police Blotter: 3 Stolen Cars, 4 Windows Shot, Stolen Bikes

The Piedmont police blotter from April 5-7 includes three vehicles stolen last Friday, four window shot in at least three cars apparently with BBs or pellets on Sunday, a Honda stolen from Ranleigh Way and a drunk/disorderly conduct arrest.

Incidents highlighted in the blotter below were recorded in the Piedmont Police Department log. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

Friday, April 5

Drunk or disorderly arrest – At 3:47 a.m., police arrested a pedestrian in the 100 block of Moraga Avenue on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs to an unsafe degree or obstructing a public right of way. The suspect was taken to the Glenn Dyer Detention Facility in Oakland.

Stolen tools – A man in the 900 block of Kingston Avenue reported that tools were stolen from a jobsite the previous evening.

Honda stolen – At noon, a man in the 1100 block of Ranleigh Way reported that his 1996 Honda Accord was stolen sometime in the previous three hours.

Auto stolen – At 5:40 p.m., a resident of the 100 block of Greenback Avenue reported that his four-door green vehicle was missing when he returned home around 2 p.m. 

Auto stolen – At 5:51 p.m., a resident in the first block of Jerome Avenue reported that his vehicle was stolen sometime after 1 p.m.

Saturday, April 6

Unsafe skateboarding – At 4:27 p.m., a man reported that 6-8 juveniles were skateboarding down Bell AVenue and not being safe. He said he almost hit two of them as they turned left on Scenic Avenue. The juveniles were advised by police and were leaving the area.

Auto burglary – At 9:27 p.m., a police officer reported a vehicle with its window smashed in the 900 block of Rose Avenue.

Sunday, April 7

Auto vandalism – At 1:03 a.m., police received a report from a person in the 100 block of Olive Avenue that someone shot a window of a white Volvo with a BB or pellet gun.

Vandalism – At 1:30 a.m., police received a report from Olive and Sunnyside avenues that a window had been shot by a BB gun.

Auto vandalism – At 91:15 a.m., a person in the first block of Lake Avenue reported that the back window of a VW Golf had been shot out.

Auto burglary – At 11:17 a.m., a woman in the 100 block of Bonita Avenue reported that an unlocked vehicle was gone through and a canvas bag with golf balls left on her property. The bag was returned to its owner, a neighbor across the street.

Auto vandalism – At 2:11 p.m., a person in the 900 block of Kingston Avenue report the back window of a vehicle shot with a BB.

Bikes stolen – A resident in the 100 block of Scenic Avenue reported that bicycles were stolen from the garage sometime the previous evening.
