Police Blotter: Arrests, Auto Burglary, Garbage Truck Collision

The weekend police blotter.

Incidents highlighted in the blotter were recorded in the Piedmont Police Department log from noon on July 26 through noon, July 29. Not all incidents recorded in the log are included here. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.
FRIDAY, JULY 26
Vandalism arrest — A male juvenile was taken into custody after a report of vandalism on Linda Avenue shortly after 12:45 p.m.

Late for an appointment — A police officer responded to a report of suspicious circumstances on Ricardo Avenue about 4:40 p.m. — a man dozing for more than an hour in a pickup truck carrying the name of a plumbing company — and found the plumber was waiting for an inspector to show up.

Auto burglary — Someone broke into a car parked on Sea View Avenue between 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, JULY 27

Skateboarders in street — Police broke up a group of skateboarders who were creating a traffic hazard near the corner of Calvert Court and Blair Avenue about 5 p.m. Unfortunately the skateboarders returned about 15 minutes later, prompting another visit by police.

SUNDAY, JULY 28

Found credit card — A citizen found a credit card and turned it in to police at 12:48 p.m.

MONDAY, JULY 29

Arrest — Police questioned an adult male during a pedestrian stop near Grand and Jean avenues just before 3 a.m., then placed him under arrest and took him to the Glenn Dyer Detention Facility in Oakland. Assistance was provided by Oakland police.

Non-injury accident — No one was injured when a passenger vehicle and a garbage truck collided near Grand and Oakland avenues about 7:45 a.m.
