Police Blotter: Multi-Car Accident, Big Booms, Fallen Trees
The weekend crime report in Piedmont.
Incidents highlighted in the blotter were recorded in the Piedmont Police Department log from noon on Jan. 10 through noon, Jan. 13. Not all incidents recorded in the log are included here. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.
FRIDAY, JAN. 10
Non-injury accident — A driver hit multiple parked vehicles along La Salle Avenue about 4 p.m., but no injuries were reported. Police said the driver provided insurance information to the driver of one other vehicle involved and left notes for the owners of other vehicles that were hit.
SATURDAY, JAN. 11
Big booms — Two callers notified police of three loud booms in the general area of Wildwood School just before 10 p.m. Officers were not able to determine the source of the sounds but think they were likely caused by fireworks.
SUNDAY, JAN. 12
Nope, not Rudolph — The critter spotted on a Requa rooftop shortly after noon was a fox, according to the animal control officer on duty.
MONDAY, JAN. 13
Fallen trees — High winds caused a bit of havoc. A neighbor's tree fell onto a house on Estates Drive, while a city-owned tree fell onto a vehicle on Sierra Avenue.
