Police Blotter: 'There's a Fox on My Porch'

The weekend police log also included a DUI arrest and an auto break-in.

Incidents highlighted in the blotter were recorded in the Piedmont Police Department log from noon on Jan. 17 through noon, Jan. 20. Not all incidents recorded in the log are included here. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

FRIDAY, JAN. 17

Identity theft — Someone opened a credit account in a Piedmont resident's name without authorization.

Foxy Piedmont — An El Cerrito Avenue resident told police that a fox was on her porch about 4:30 p.m. and she believed it might be injured. An animal control officer set a trap and reported that the fox was not in distress. It appears that someone may have been feeding the fox, the animal control officer said.

DUI arrest — A person was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop near the corner of Ricardo and Arroyo avenues at 10:06 p.m.

SUNDAY, JAN. 19

Non-injury accident — Two vehicles — an Acura and a Honda Accord — were towed after a two-car collision on city property near the corner of Hillside and Oakland avenues about 11:10 a.m. Police said no one was injured in the collision.

MONDAY, JAN. 20

Auto burglary — Someone broke into a vehicle parked on St James Drive.
