Police Blotter: Woman Arrested After Three Parked Cars Hit

Incidents reported to Piedmont Police March 21 – March 28.


Man Looking into Garage – At 12:38 p.m., it was reported that a man was looking into a garage on the 100 block of Hillside Avenue. The man also appeared to be soliciting, the caller said.


Burglary Reported – At 1:41 p.m., it was reported that a home on the 100 block of Moraga Avenue was burglarized.

Identity Stolen – At 4:28 p.m., a woman from the 100 block of Waldo Avenue reported that her identity had been used online.


Stolen Vehicle Recovered – A 1994 white Infiniti stolen in Berkeley was recovered on the 1100 block of Winsor Avenue at 7:21 a.m.

Tools Taken From Construction Site – At 9:22 a.m., it was reported that tools were taken from a construction site on the 200 block of Crocker Avenue.

One Vehicle Ransacked, Another Burglarized – At 1:01 p.m., a caller reported that an unlocked Lexus had been entered the previous night on the 300 block of Sheridan Avenue, but nothing was taken. At 6:44 p.m., a caller from the first block of Sea View Drive reported that change and a bridge-toll paying device were taken from an unlocked Mercedes the previous night.

Game and Cell Phone Ear Piece Turned In – At 3:04 p.m., a woman from the 200 block of Sheridan Avenue turned in a video game and a cell phone earpiece she found in the bushes.

Caller Reports PHS Assault – At 3:40 p.m., a male reported being assaulted at the Piedmont High School gym two weeks earlier.

iPhone Goes Missing – A woman reported at 10:29 p.m. that her son’s iPhone was stolen or lost over the weekend.


Cash Found – At 11:25 a.m., it was reported that cash was found in the men’s restroom of the Piedmont Police Department.

Street Flooded – Flooding was reported on the first block of Calvert Court at 12:03 p.m.

Manhole Cover Problem Fixed – An officer was able to replace a manhole cover after it was reported at 12:39 p.m. that the cover had come off on the first block of Nova Drive. 


Tree Falls – Public works staffers were called out after it was reported that a tree was down at Moraga Avenue and Maxwelton Road at 3:44 a.m.

Theft Reported at Middle School – At 12:03 p.m., it was reported that a Piedmont Middle School student may have stolen a laptop computer and an iPhone and another student might be in possession of stolen property.


Music Player Disappears – A caller reported that a digital music player was stolen at a Piedmont Swim Center locker room sometime the previous night between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Police Make Warrant Arrest – At 1:57 a.m., police arrested a 42-year-old Concord man on the 400 block of El Cerrito Avenue for having an arrest warrant for charges of driving with a suspended license and a traffic violation.

Trees Cause Hazards – At 7:28 a.m., it was reported that a fallen tree was blocking the first block of Lexford Road. At 9:14 a.m., it was reported that a tree on the first block of Estrella Avenue was falling over. Another large tree reportedly fell on the 100 block of Lake Avenue. The Department of Public Works was notified in all cases.

Pothole Gives Driver Flat Tire – At 9:47 a.m., a caller reported receiving a flat tire after hitting a large pothole northbound on Grand Avenue at Cambridge Way.


Construction Site Entered – A home under construction on the 600 block of Blair Avenue was entered and boxes were rifled through, though it was unknown what was missing, according to a report made at 11:48 a.m.

Loud Explosion Reported – A loud explosion or gunshot was reported on the 100 block of Ronada Avenue at 6:49 a.m.


Person Arrested for Suspected DUI – Police made a DUI arrest at Oakland and Olive avenues at 1:11 a.m.

Three Park Cars Hit – Police arrested a woman on suspicion of driving under the influence after she reportedly hit three parked cars on the 1600 block of Grand Avenue at 1:46 a.m.

Cyclist Hits Pole – At 7:49 a.m., it was reported that a juvenile bicyclist was injured after hitting a pole at Crocker Avenue and Hampton Road.

Bike Vanishes from Porch – At 8:58 a.m., it was reported that a bicycle was taken from a porch on the 100 block of Ronada Avenue the previous night.
