Police Use Tracking Software to Catch Grand Avenue Robbery Suspects

The suspects may be responsible for several other robberies in the area, Oakland police say

Tracking software installed on an iPad led to the arrest of two suspects in an armed robbery Thursday night on Grand Avenue, the Oakland Police Department reports.

According to police, a pair of robbers, one carrying a gun, confronted two people about 10:45 p.m. in the 3300 block of Grand Avenue.

When officers responded, one victim told them that tracking software was installed on his iPad, police said. Officers used the tracking technology to locate the iPad and arrest two suspects who had it in their possession, the OPD said.
