Three Cars Damaged in Lakeshore Accident

Three vehicles were damaged but no one was injured in an accident late Tuesday afternoon in the 3200 block of Lakeshore Avenue, reports Ken Katz of the Splash Pad Newsletter.

Katz said Lakeshore security guard Abebe Lema offered this account of the accident, which happened about 5:15 p.m.:

The driver of the car on the left was slowly backing out of a parking space opposite the CVS Pharmacy, 3236 Lakeshore Ave., Oakland, then suddenly accelerated rapidly.

The car initially hit the vehicle on the right, lifting it up and over the double curb, and then also clipped the right rear of a third car directly behind it.

Katz said Lema is the long-time Lakeshore security guard whose company works under contract to the Lakeshore Business Improvement District.
