Woman Arrested for Alleged Bad Checks at Ace Hardware

Piedmont police arrested an Oakland woman for allegedly writing bad checks totaling more than $500 at Ace Hardware, police said.

A 30-year-old Oakland woman has been arrested by Piedmont police for allegedly writing several bad checks at Ace Hardware, police said.

The woman allegedly wrote multiple checks to purchase merchandise valued at than $500 at the store from June 16-19, according to Piedmont Police Capt. Scott Wyatt.

After an investigation, Piedmont police arrested the woman on July 2 at 2:30 p.m. at her home, which is near Piedmont, Wyatt said. She was arrested on suspicion of fraud and grand theft and transported to the North County Jail in Oakland.
