Police: Woman Used Piedmont Employer's Credit Cards, Faces Embezzlement Charges

Leanne Left, 41, of Oakland will appear in court on June 4.

An Oakland woman has been charged with embezzlement and grand theft after using her Piedmont employer's credit cards to pay her own bills, Piedmont Police Detective George Phifer said Thursday.

Leanne Leflet, 41, of Oakland was arrested May 17 by Phifer and Detective Bob Coffey, who also searched her home and vehicle for evidence.

Leflet was hired by a Piedmont resident as an administrative assistant in late 2012, Phifer said.

Between the time she was hired and the end of January 2013, Leflet used the employer's credit cards to pay more than $5,000 of her own bills, he said.

Leflet is free on $10,000 bail pending her next court appearance on June 4.
