Advisory Committee Looks at New City Budget

Piedmont's Budget Advisory and Financial Planning Committee will take its first look tonight at the city's proposed budget for fiscal year 2012-2013.

Also on the agenda: discussion of five-year projections regarding general fund revenue, expenditures and transfers.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, in the conference room at City Hall, 120 Vista Ave. The agenda is attached at right as a PDF.

Members of the Piedmont City Council received copies of the proposed 2012-2013 budget at the close of Monday night's council meeting. The proposed budget is scheduled to be posted on the City of Piedmont website this morning.

Council members will review the proposal at a budget workshop on May 19. Public hearings will be held at the council meetings on June 4 and June 18. Council members are expected to adopt the budget and take several related actions, including setting the sewer tax rate for 2012-2013, at the June 18 meeting.
