Arbor Day: Cherry Blossom Time in Piedmont

The city marked its 16 annual Arbor Day celebration with ceremonial tree planting, garden talks and displays, Japanese music and, fortunately, sunshine in Piedmont Park

Piedmont celebrated Arbor Day on March 30 with the planting of several cherry trees, including a Yoshino cherry sapling that is a gift of the Japanese Embassy, in Piedmont Park. Garden talks, floral displays in the Tea House and Japanese music were also part of the event, attended by Consul General Hiroshi Inomata, Park Commisssion members and other city officials, representatives of the Piedmont Beautification Foundation and local garden clubs, and other garden-loving Piedmonters.

Julie Reichle captured the event in photos. You can read more about the Arbor Day activities in this article.

My daughter was a camp counselor at this camp last summer. It is a really unique camp. What aRead More great experience for kids. I wish something like this was available when my kids were young. Parents should definitely check it out!!
