Book Sale (Cheap!) at Piedmont Ave. Library
Hardcovers $2, paperbacks $1, and some fairly recent publication dates.
The Piedmont Avenue Branch Library, 160 - 41st St., Oakland, is selling off excess books in preparation for its move later this fall.
Books for sale are right outside the door during business hours. They are priced at $1 for paperbacks and $2 for hardcovers, and many are relatively recent publications.
The library was scheduled to be closed Saturday, Sept. 8, through Monday, Sept. 10, so the next time to buy is Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 12:30 to 8 p.m. The library will also be open Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Friday from noon to 5:30 p.m.

The library is scheduled to move soon into a modular unit at the rear of the Piedmont Avenue Elementary School playground, 4314 Piedmont Ave.
