City Council to Discuss Operations at Piedmont Community Pool

City Council will also appropriate funds for several capital improvement projects at its Aug. 1 meeting.

On Monday, City Council will hear a report from Recreation Department staff regarding operations at Piedmont Community Pool, which the city began managing July 1 at the start of the new fiscal year.

Pool revenues totaled about $225,100 in the period from April 1 to July 26. The Recreation Department  for the fiscal year. (Editor's note: Information about the revenue goal was incorrect when this story originally was published.)

City Council decided in February to take over the pool from the private Piedmont Swim Club. Fees, including those for seasonal and annual passes, were set at its June 6 meeting.

Also on Monday, council members will vote to appropriate $5,750 to the Every 15 Minutes program sponsored by the Piedmont Unified School District; plus Capital Improvement Project funds in the amount of $30,911 for the Ronada/Ramona landscape triangle project, $15,000 for the City Hall courtyard wall renovation and $75,000 for improvements at the Piedmont Center for the Arts.
