There will be a display of bonsai plants and ikibana arrangements. Four flowering Japanese cherry trees will be planted, including one by the Japanese Consul in celebration of the Japan-United States Cherry Blossom Centennial which commemorates the donation one hundred years ago of 3,000 cherry trees that were planted surrounding Washington D.C.'s Tidal Basin.

Entertainment includes Taiko drum and bamboo flute playing. Taiko drumming is a modern musical art form with ancient roots. Originally Taiko drums were used in Japanese religious ceremonies and folk festivals. Shakuhachi bamboo flutes were  played by Zen Buddhist monks during Japan's medieval period as a spiritual tool. Following the entertainment, refreshments will be served.
