LWV Voters Forum on Measure A Provokes Questions, Discussion

If you missed the forum last week, you can view a video of it on the city's website.

Pro and con presentations on Measure A, the school parcel tax measure on the March 5 special election ballot, provoked lively discussion and many questions at last week's League of Women Voters of Piedmont forum, according to an article on the Piedmont Civic Association website.

Proponents Doug Ireland and Jonathan Davis emphasized the importance of good schools to Piedmont residents and the reduction in state funding in recent years, according to th PCA report. Opponents Tom Clark and Rick Schiller focused on the lack of a meaningful senior exemption and tax increases for smaller parcels, with decreases for larger properties.
