This Just In On the Picture of the Week

Bill Holland took this well-composed photo of a Bonita Avenue home.

Piedmont Patch, as is its custom, first posted the picture of the week Sunday. Now we post it again, having added a key detail, the photographer to credit with the picture of week: Bill Holland of Piedmont.

Holland was the architect (and photographer) on the award-winning renovation of 213 Bonita Ave., which won the award for Best Outdoor Living Area in the s from Piedmont Planning Commission. That's one of seven awards for houses with remodeling completed in 2010.

Holland worked with owners David and Robin Sweet, contractor Neil T. Guiney and landscaper Guadalupe Magana on the Bonita Avenue project.

In picking this photo, Patch is making a judgment not on one renovation project vis-a-vis the others but rather on the photo composition with its colorful geometry, displaying the entire outdoor living area with the decorative urn in the foreground.

Each Sunday, a snapshot taken in Piedmont will be featured in this column. If you capture a great moment or see a stunning image someone else took, e-mail the photo and a brief description of the context in which it was taken to amy@patch.com by midnight on that Saturday to nominate it for Picture of the Week.
