Piedmont Soccer Club to Help Pay for Maintenance of Alameda Sports Fields

The Alameda Soccer Club will take over management of a group of soccer fields at Alameda Point when PSC's rental agreement expires at the end of this year.

The Alameda Soccer Club will take over management of a group of sports fields at Alameda Point when the Piedmont Soccer Club's rental agreement expires at the end of this year, but the Piedmont club will continue to have access to the fields and will contribute to their maintenance, according to an article today on The Alamedan website.

The no-cost lease was approved by the Alameda City Council Tuesday night, The Alamedan said. The Piedmont Soccer Club has managed the fields since 2005. The current lease expired in October, but the City of Alameda agreed to rent the fields to PSC on a month-to-month basis through the end of the year.

The Alameda club will have 10 percent use of the fields under the terms of the new lease, according to The Alamedan.
