Pool Manager Exits

Both former Swim Club managers have now left long before their contracts with the city were up.

Joe Perez left his job as the manager of the Piedmont Community Pool Thursday. His exit follows the departure of assistant manager Amanda Garcia, who notified the city earlier this summer that she would be leaving to become the manager of the Albany Unified School District's new pool.

Perez and Garcia had previously managed the pool for the Piedmont Swim Club and through December to help with the transition to city operations.

Recreation Director Mark Delventhal would not reveal any further details of the personnel shake-up Friday, saying he planned to issue a press release Monday once city staff had been notified of the changes.
