The Most Expensive Homes for Sale in the Piedmont-Oakland Area

Check out these homes that are all priced at more than $2 million

There still aren't a lot of homes for sale in the Bay Area and the ones that are on the market continue to cost more.

A report released this week by DataQuick showed that home sales in the Bay Area were down 12 percent in December from the previous December.

It also showed that the median price paid for a Bay Area home last month was $548,500, a 24 percent increase over December 2012. The price was slightly lower than the median sale price in November.

With that in mind, we thought we'd take another look at the most expensive homes for sale in the region.

In Berkeley, this four-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home at 89 Southampton Ave. is listed at $2.2 million.

In Alameda, this eight-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom house at 1232 Bay St. is listed at almost $2.5 million.

In Piedmont, this eight-bedroom, seven-bathroom home at 17 Sotelho Ave. is listed at just under $4 million.
