Assistant Superintendent is Leaving PUSD

The school board and administration congratulate David Roth on his new job as superintendent of a district in the Sierra foothills.

Superintendent Connie Hubbard dropped a bombshell at the start of the school board meeting Wednesday evening: after nine years in Piedmont, David Roth is leaving to become head of the Buckeye Union School District

Roth has made an impression on Piedmont, first as director of special education and most recently as the assistant superintendent in charge of educational services. Buckeye Union, Hubbard said, is very lucky to have him.

The Buckeye Union School District serves about 4,500 students in grades K-8 living in Cameron Park, Shingle Springs, and El Dorado Hills in El Dorado County, where Roth is from.

Hubbard said she is working with the school board to fill the gap left in Piedmont's administrative staffing and "anticipates having personnel in place for 2011-2012 by the end of this school year."
