Updated: New Piedmont College Grads

It's graduation season ...

Among the Piedmont residents receiving their college degress this spring, as reported by their colleges and universities:

Julien Leyhe of Piedmont received a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the President of Berklee College of Music, Roger Brown.

Elizabeth Andrada, from Piedmont, graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Arts during a spring commencement ceremony, held on Sunday, May 20.

Carolyn Witter Bates, of Piedmont was among 3,219 students from Miami University who received degrees during spring commencement exercises Saturday, May 5 at Yager Stadium. Bates received a B.S. degree in business. Miami University is a public university located in southwest Ohio.

Claire Douglass of Piedmont graduated from Cornell University on May 27 with a Bachelor of Science degree in urban and regional studies.

Sandra W. Johnson of Piedmont graduated from Colby College May 20, receiving a bachelor of arts degree. She is the daughter of Timothy and Lauren Johnson of Piedmont, majored in American studies and is a graduate of Piedmont High School.

Russell Thompson of Piedmont graduated from Harvey Mudd College, Claremont, CA, on May 13 with a bachelor of science degree in joint chemistry/biology, graduating with high distinction and departmental honors in biology. Thompson attended Piedmont High School.

Ryan Pattee of Piedmont graduated from the University of San Diego May 27. Pattee earned a bachelor's degree in marketing.

Richard White graduated from Colorado College on May 21 with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science cum laude. White is the son of John White and Marcia Black.

The college awarded 525 undergraduate degrees and five master of arts in teaching degrees at its 130th commencement ceremony, held on May 21 outdoors on Armstrong Quad.

Kieran Craigie earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice with a minor in political science from Gonzaga Unversity in Spokane, Washington. Archbishop Desmond Tutu gave the commencement address.

Mina Duffy earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Quinnipiac University during the 81st undergraduate commencement exercises on May 20.

Nicholas Riker of Piedmont, graduated from Bowdoin College, majoring in visual arts. The College's 207th Commencement exercises were held Saturday, May 26.

Peter Pritchard of Piedmont, CA, has earned a degree in aerospace engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

Kieran Craigie earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice with a minor in Political Science from Gonzaga Unversity in Spokane, Washington. Archbishop Desmond Tutu gave the commencement address.
