The PHS College and Career Center has events coming up for parents of juniors and seniors

Coming up at the Piedmont High School College and Career Center:

Transition to College

For parents of current seniors, Wednesday, May 2, at7 p.m. in the PHS Library

Join PHS counselor Ashley English in conjunction with Dr. Dai To, Ph.D., director of counseling and psychological services at St. Mary’s College, in learning what to expect in the transition from high school to college. Dr. To will address social and academic stress, depression, relationships, managing time, homesickness, problem solving and other issues that students may face in their transition to college life. All parents of seniors are encouraged to attend. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.

Senior Parent Panel

For parents of juniors, Tuesday, May 8 at 7 p.m. in the PHS Library.

This evening will include a moderated panel and Q&A session. Parents who have been through the process will talk about the college application process and the transition to college. Topics will include visiting colleges, negotiating the application process, using college consultants and more.

Case Studies Night

For juniors and their parents, Tuesday, May 15 at 7 p.m. in the PHS Library. Advance registration required.
