New Principals, World Language Texts, Teacher Contracts on School Board Agenda

Pedmont's school board meets in public session tonight at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

The Piedmont Unified School District's Board of Education expects to appoint a new principal for Piedmont Middle School when it meets tonight at 6:30 in closed session at Piedmont City Hall, 120 Vista Ave.

Board members may also interview candidates for Piedmont High School principal during the closed session.

The board's public session, which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers, includes these items on the agenda:

  • A public hearing and adoption of proposed new textbooks for World Language. A public review period for the new texts ends today, May 8.
  • Approve repayment options for Bond Anticipation Notes (BANs) and provide staff with direction for the use of any modernization funds to pay down debt.
  • A public hearing for 2013-14 contract openers between the PuSD and the Association of Piedmont Teachers.
