Piedmont High to Hold Community Service Fair

PHS and Millenium High students will have a chance to learn about volunteer opportunities at the Oct. 2 event.

Piedmont High School will host its biennial Community Service Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 2 during lunch time (12:55–1:25 p.m.). Over a dozen agencies from a variety of fields will be represented, including Urban Farmers, Reading Buddies, Oakland Public Library, Super Stars Literacy, Lake Merritt Institute, Alameda County Food Bank, Chabot Space and Science, Rebuilding Together Oakland, Sausal Creek, Registrar of Voters, Special Olympics of Northern CA, Key Club, Venture Crew and Police Explorers.

Although community service is not a graduation requirement at Piedmont High and Millenium High, many students do participate in giving back to the community. The fair is a chance for students to learn about various opportunities in the community and sign up to volunteer in their area of interest.

My daughter was a camp counselor at this camp last summer. It is a really unique camp. What aRead More great experience for kids. I wish something like this was available when my kids were young. Parents should definitely check it out!!
