Students and parents will be sure to notice the fresh coats of paint, newly laid carpeting, and refinished auditorium floor. There is a new PA system, Smartboards in the classrooms, and a created with tiles made by children.

But most of the work done on the building, first constructed in 1924, is behind the walls, including structural improvements for seismic safety, energy efficiency upgrades to lighting and heating systems, and water conserving updates to the plumbing.

The Wildwood Parents' Club and the Piedmont Educational Foundation is hosting an at the school Sunday, Aug. 28 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

CORRECTION: The cost of the Wildwood retrofits was approximately $7 million, not $69 million as this article previously stated. $69 million is the total budget for all the seismic safety and modernization projects being completed in the Piedmont Unified School District.

sorry, is this a 69 million or 6.9 million renovation? If so former, it sounds like a Piedmont undergrounding project!

You're right, the cost of the Wildwood renovations was closer to $6.9 million. The $69 million figure is the total budget for all the seismic safety and modernization projects being completed throughout Piedmont's school district. Thanks for catching the error.
