"I love Piedmont, I grew up there and my parents still live there," Bryan said. "There have been hundreds of kids over the years that I had the chance to coach and I got a lot of calls wishing me luck today and [Tuesday]. I'm lucky to have had several other opportunities that I've said no to because I liked my situation at Piedmont."

Bryan said he has no plans to leave the area.

Also in the e-mail, Booker wrote: "Early next week I will send an email to all PHS football families outlining our process and timeline for hiring a new varsity football coach."

"I expect it to be an extremely popular job opening — it's a great job," Bryan said.
