BroncoPiedmont Oaks 11, Piedmont Renegades 10

Well-played first game of the year. Oaks took a large lead but the Renegades made a valiant comeback in the top of the 5th to tie it up 10 -10. The Oaks scored the winning run in the bottom of the inning, making the final score Oaks 11, Renegades 10.

Mustang: Piedmont Titans 11, Piedmont Phillies 7

 John Roos scored twice and had an RBI single. Paul Woolcott scored twice with a triple and a single. Noah Rosenbaum and Trent Settlemeier each scored twice. Jonah Sanders hit 3 singles and scored once. Grant Keating and Michael Manguyen had RBI singles. James Sharman had 3 singles.

 Piedmont Titans 8, Fear the Beard 5

 The Titans were victorious in the first game of the season by winning 8-5 with great offense, solid fielding and good pitching. Trent Settlemeir belted a 2-run home run, created another 2-run home run from his aggressive base running and had an RBI double. Jonah Sanders scored 2 runs by getting on base. Grant Keating had a strong hit to get on base to score and had an RBI with a fielder's choice. Paul Woolcott's double got him on base to score. John Roos got a walk that led to his scoring. Trent Settlemeir struck out 6 batters in 2 innings and kept the opponent from scoring. Paul Woolcott and Jonah Sanders had multiple strikeouts and only allowed one run each. Grant Keating had 3 good fielding plays.

Piedmont Grizzlies 7, Piedmont Spartans 7

 The Grizzlies and Spartans tied in a well-played game. Grizzly pitchers included Jacob Prager, Owen Levinson, Josh DeBare, and Ricardo Barker in his Mustang debut. Grizzly hitting included a 3-run double by Levinson and a solid single by Max Friedman. Gabe Liu made a nice play at second to end a Spartan rally.

 Pinto: Piedmont Yankees 16, Orinda Rampage 7

 The Yankees played excellent defense and got timely hitting in their season opener. Antonio Rivera started a double play, and Milo Filler and Ben Levinson made several middle infield outs. On offense, Ryan Tripp hit a three-run home run, Noah Zirkle had 3 hits, and Levinson and Filler combined for three triples.

Softball
U10

 Piedmont Dragons 11, Green Phoenix 13

 In their opening game, the Dragons battled the Green Phoenix in a close game. The Dragons pitchers were strong with Marissa Perry and Lauren Young each with 2 strikeouts, and Maeve Gilbert and Camile Creighton each with a strikeout. Perry and Gilbert also had RBIs while Creighton hit a 2-RBI single, scoring Baily Finkel from second. Finkel also scored in the first. Nina Tafapolsy and Laura Bryan played solid defense, as did Cloe Tjogas, Avery Zak, and Chelsea Fox. Angela Huang drew two walks and converted both into runs.

 U12

 Piedmont Titans 8, Oakland Warriors 18

 The Titans started their season with 3 solid innings and the lead with strong pitching fom Addy Christianson and Nicole Shoptaugh. Montreal Miller and Halle Lowe made good defensive plays. Jenny Hosler, Emma Seevack and Nicole Shoptaugh had multiple hits and RBIs.
