Bill Drum, Neighbor

I have lived in Piedmont for 39 years. I am retired after 40 years of working with hospitals in various roles including management positions. 

My current activities include: maintaining my vegetable garden and fruit trees and roses. 

I am a volunteer tutor at the Piemont Avenue Elementary School with Experience Corps. I am a mentor with City Slicker Farms in West Oakland. I am on the board of directors of the Piemont Swim Club, until it disolves later this year. I am on the Citizens Oversight Committee for the seismic upgrade of the Piedmont Unified School District. I am also on the Steering Committee for the Seismic upgrade program. I am a member of the board of directors of the Piedmont Educational Foundation. I am a member of the No Name Bridge Club and play weekly. I will be going on to the board of directors of the Grandfathers Club of America #2 in May of next year. 

I like to travel and this year went to Turkey in May and Italy in October.

I do a lot of walking. I have walked from my house on every street and path in Piedmont. I have just completed the East Bay Regional Parks 2011 Challenge. I also try to swim a mile once a week at the Piedmont Community pool. 

I was a founder of the Piedmont Harvest Festival and chair of the Harvest Festival Committee for 13 years.
