Preventing violence against women and girls

The Oakland-Piedmont branch of AAUW presents

“Winning strategies for preventing violence against women and girls---A report from the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women 2013 Session.”  Please join us at the Rockridge Branch of the Oakland Public Library on Saturday, November 2, from 10:30-12:00.  The event is free and open to the public.

Local branch member Kathleen Cha was an NGO delegate and workshop leader at this gathering of 6000 delegates from all over the world who met to share insights about problems and solutions for dealing with violence against women and girls, to set global standards, to evaluate progress, and to fashion a holistic approach to ending violence against women and girls. She will talk about the global issues as well local actions.
