BB Gun Vandal Shoots Out Windows of At Least 5 Vehicles

The shooter didn't bother to search most of the damaged vehicles, police said.

At least five vehicles had windows shot out as one or more vandals armed with a BB or pellet gun roamed streets near Piedmont's eastern edge early Saturday morning, Piedmont Police Detective George Phifer said today (Tuesday).

Piedmont patrol officers found damaged vehicles in the 300 and 500 blocks of Hampton Road, the 100 block of Estates Drive and the 200 block of Sandringham Road, Phifer said.

The first damaged vehicle was discovered shortly after 2 a.m., he said, with the rest located soon after.

The shooter, who aimed at side windows, appears to have entered and searched only one of the vehicles, Phifer said.
