Police Arrest 3 Suspected Burglars After Resident Reports 'Suspicious Knock on the Door'

The arrests came Tuesday, June 11, in the 600 block of Blair Avenue.

Piedmont police arrested three men on suspicion of burglary Tuesday after a Blair Avenue resident reported that a suspicious person knocked on the front door and asked for someone who didn't live there, according to a Piedmont Police Department press release.

When four officers responded to the call from the 600 block of Blair about 11 a.m., they saw two men, later identified as Aaron Henderson and James Beverly Jr., walking from the courtyard of a neighboring residence, police said.

The two were attempted to get into a vehicle driven by a third man, Deandre Mur, when the officers stopped them, police said.

After investigating and viewing surveilance video footage, the officers arrested Henderson, age 20; Beverly, 20; and Mur, 34, on suspicion of burglary. Mur was also arrested on suspicion of violating terms of his parole, police said.

The PPD officers who responded to the call were Ray Leong, Steve DeWarns, Joe Garcia and Tom Kincaid, the release said.

PPD detectives are following up to see if the three men may have been involved in other Piedmont burglaries, police said.
