Police Blotter: Big Rig in Trouble, Flooded Patio, Warrant Arrest
The weekend crime report — although there wasn't much crime...
Incidents highlighted in the blotter were recorded in the Piedmont Police Department log from noon on Nov. 8 through noon, Nov. 11. Not all incidents recorded in the log are included here. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.
FRIDAY, NOV. 8
Traffic hazard — A jackknifed big rig and the tow truck sent to rescue it blocked traffic near the corner of Monticello and Ramona avenues during the afternoon.
Water hazard — Water flooded the patio of a Sierra Avenue home about 11 p.m. The Piedmont Fire Department responded and got things mopped up by about 12:30 a.m.
SATURDAY, NOV. 9
Warrant arrest — One person was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Ohio after a pedestrian stop near the corner of Rose Avenue and Parkside Drive just before 5 a.m.
SUNDAY, NOV. 10
Welfare check— A distraught woman wrapped in a blanket was reportedly screaming on Ramona Avenue about 9 a.m. A nearby resident who is acquainted with the woman picked her up and provided a ride home.
MONDAY, NOV. 11
Parking problem — An Olive Avenue resident reported an ongoing problem with a parked vehicle blocking access to an alleyway. The owner moved the vehicle.
