Police Blotter: Bike Theft, Drug Arrests, Missing Person Found

The weekend crime report from the Piedmont Police Department.

Incidents highlighted in the blotter were recorded in the Piedmont Police Department log from noon on Aug. 30 through noon, Sept. 2. Not all incidents recorded in the log are included here. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

FRIDAY, AUG. 30

Identity theft — A Mountain Avenue resident reported that someone has opened credit accounts in her name without authorization.

SATURDAY, AUG. 31

Drug violations — Two persons were taken into custody on suspicion of possession of illegal drugs after a traffic stop on Pleasant Valley Road about 1:30 a.m. Both were taken to the Glenn Dyer Detention Facility in Oakland and their vehicle was towed.

Attempted vehicle theft — Someone tried to steal a Ford truck parked on Wildwood Avenue between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Dog lost, found — A Mountain Avenue resident reported that an unfamiliar black and white dog with a collar was in her backyard about 10:30 p.m. An officer picked up the pooch and it was returned to its owner.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 1

Non-injury crash — A juvenile driver was tested for blood alcohol level, cited and released to a parent after being involved in a non-injury accident on Calvert Court about 5:30 a.m.

Missing person — Police located a Piedmont resident suffering from Alzheimer's who had wandered away from home about 8:30 a.m.

MONDAY, SEPT. 2

Bike theft — A bicycle worth $3,500 was reported stolen from a backyard on Blair Avenue.
