Police Blotter: Missing Jewelry, Marijuana Arrest, Vehicle vs. House

The weekend police log.

Incidents highlighted in the blotter were recorded in the Piedmont Police Department log from noon on Oct. 25 through noon, Oct. 28. Not all incidents recorded in the log are included here. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.

FRIDAY, OCT. 25

Missing jewelry — A Glen Alpine Road resident reported that jewelry had disappeared from their home, possibly taken by by someone who had done a day's work in the home.

Warrant arrest and drug possession — Police arrested a San Francisco man on an outstanding robbery warrant and suspicion of drug possession after an afternoon traffic stop on Grand Avenue. See "Police Stop Driver for Cell Phone Use While Driving, Find a Box Full of Marijuana Plants" for details.

Non-injury accident — A motorcyclist escaped without injury in a single-vehicle accident near the corner of Sunnyside and Lake avenues about 2:40 p.m. A police officer helped the cyclist right the motorcycle.

Auto burglary — A Blair Avenue resident reported that someone broke into their parked vehicle overnight.

SUNDAY, OCT. 27

Vehicle vs. house — No one was injured when a vehicle crashed into a home on Moraga Avenue, near Mesa Avenue, about 2:34 a.m. The driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
