Police Blotter: Noisy Party and Skateboarders, Stolen Bike
Despite noise complaints, a generally quiet weekend on the Piedmont crime front.
Incidents highlighted in the blotter were recorded in the Piedmont Police Department log from noon on Aug. 23 through noon, Aug. 26. Not all incidents recorded in the log are included here. Information was supplied by the police and does not indicate any convictions.
FRIDAY, AUG. 23
Noise complaint — A Se View Avenue resident complained about the noise from a live band playing at a nearby home.
SATURDAY, AUG. 24
Stray pooch — An animal control officer picked up a stray dog on Grand Avenue shortly before 3 p.m.
Suspicious circumstances — A citizen reported that a man appeared to be checking the handles on parked cars near Linda and Rose avenues in the early evening. Police were unable to locate the man.
SUNDAY, AUG. 25
More suspicious circumstances — A resident reported a man in a parked blue auto who looked "out of place" on El Cerrito Avenue about 9:30 a.m. Police determined the man was waiting to pick up a friend.
Noise complaints — Police sent noisy skateboarders on their way after complaints near Linda and Grand avenues at 955 p.m. and on Lake Avenue about 35 minutes later.
Stolen bike — a bicycle that had been chained to a tree on Grand Avenue was stolen sometime Friday or Saturday.
