A male is in critical condition after being shot in Oakland Sunday night, a police officer said today.

Officers responded to a report of an injured male in the 900 block of Grosvenor Place (near the intersection with Trestle Glen Road) at about 9:25 p.m., Officer Johnna Watson said.

When officers arrived, they found a male suffering from a gunshot wound, Watson said.

He was transported to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening, she said.

Watson said the shooting may have occurred at another location from where police found the male, near the 1400 block of Fifth Avenue, more than a mile and a half away.

It is unknown what led to the shooting.
