Library Bike Rack Hugged with Yarn

A Berkeley yarn bomber thought the Piedmont Avenue branch needed some love.

The guerilla artist who goes by the pseudonym Streetcolor covered a bicycle rack outside the Piedmont Avenue branch library with a ruffled tube of knitted yarn Wednesday.

who has primarily yarn bombed spots in Berkeley, said in an email to Piedmont Patch that the installation at the Piedmont Avenue branch is the second in a series she plans to put up throughout the Oakland Library System, which had been during that city's budget process.

"I wanted to add more pleasure, comfort, and humor to the experience of going to the Piedmont library," she wrote.
