Video: Lakeview School Protest March
A group protesting the closure of Lakeview Elementary School on Grand Avenue and four other Oakland public schools marched from Lake Merritt to the home of OUSD Superintendent Tony Smith Tuesday evening.
A Tuesday evening march from Splash Pad Park at Lake Merritt to the home of Oakland Unified School District Superintendent Tony Smith followed a raid by OUSD police on a protesters' encampment at Lakeview Elementary School, 746 Grand Ave. (across from the Grand Lake Theatre).
The group has been protesting the closure of Lakeview and four other Oakland public schools for the past two weeks.
