For all U10 through U19 recreational players, completed registration forms, fees and any required documentation are due by May 24, 2013. A late fee of $50 will be assessed for all registrations completed after May 24th. Registration will close May 31, 2013.  U6 and U8 registration will stay open until June 30.  Registrations received after these respective dates will be allowed on a space available basis.

RECREATIONAL PLAYERS AND TEAMS:

No tryouts are required for PSC recreational level teams.  Players are assigned to teams by coaches and the respective age group coordinators.  Player preferences will be accommodated to the extent possible. Teams will be 'flighted' to play teams of similar age and ability.

UNIFORMS:

U6 and U8 registration fees include the international uniforms that have been such a great success over past few years. U6 and U8 players will be asked for sizing information during the Sportability online registration process.

Uniforms for U10 and older players are not changing from last year, so players can re-use their uniforms if they choose. Uniform components (socks, shorts, jerseys) will be for sale in a separate process for those who wish to make a purchase.

PLAYING OUTSIDE OF YOUR AGE GROUP:

Players are expected to play within their own age group. The California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) establishes age groups based on birth date. The official cut-off date is August 1st, so for example, if your child is born on or after August 1, 2003, but before July 31, 2005, he/she should play on a U10 team. For more information on our player policy you can go to http://www.piedmontsoccer.org/pages/rec/program-summary.php and for age group breakdowns to  http://www.piedmontsoccer.org/pages/age-group-chart.php

Players who wish to play up in the next age group must obtain the approval of both the Age Group Coordinator of the 'correct' age group and the Age Group Coordinator of the age group that the player is looking to play into. To obtain permission, the player (or parent) should email both Age Group Coordinators with the request. The request should include the player's name, grade in Fall 2013 and a brief explanation of why the player wishes to play up.   Email addresses for the Age Group Coordinators can be found on the Age Coordinators link at www.piedmontsoccer.org

SUNDAY ONLY TEAMS:

As PSC has done for the past ten years, the club will host one team in each age division and for each gender which will play only on Sundays during the Fall season, if there is sufficient demand to form a team.  We do this on behalf of the entire Jack London Youth Soccer League.  These teams give preference to families who have custody, language school or religious conflicts with a Saturday schedule.  This option needs to be checked on the registration form.  For more information, please contact Ken Schwartz atsundayczar@piedmontsoccer.org.

UNDER 8 AND UNDER 6 SOCCER:

Players born between 8/1/05 and 7/31/07 are considered U8, while players born between 8/1/07 and 7/31/08 are considered U6.  An Under-8/Under-6 information night for parents will be held in mid to May at a time and location to be announced.

As stated above, registration for U8 and U6 players is due June 30, 2013.  Registrations after that date will be accepted on a space-available basis. For additional information, see our Under 8 and Under 6 program links on the PSC website, or contact , PSC U8 Coordinators at u8boys@piedmontsoccer.org and u8girls@piedmontsoccer.org, and U6 coordinators at u6@piedmontsoccer.org.

Thank you for supporting PSC.  We look forward to a fun and successful season.
