In Photos: Piedmont Lights Up Its Redwood Tree

Carols, cider, cookies and an eager crowd marked the annual ceremony in Piedmont Park

Crowds of children and parents waited patiently outside the Piedmont Community Center Wednesday night for the annual lighting of the 80-foot redwood tree in Piedmont Park. The Piedmont High School Troubadours started the evening off with Christmas carols, while the Piedmont Boy Scouts were on hand to pour cider and set out cookies. After the lights went on, a line formed inside the Community Center for kids to meet Santa.
