Community Pool Looks a Lot Like the Swim Club

The municipal pool, operated by a private club for 47 years, is now under city management.

A new sign was hung by the door, but the scene was otherwise very familiar at the municipal pool Friday, July 1, its first day under city management after five months ago.

Recreation Department and aquatics staff, including , was busy signing up a steady stream of residents for pool passes starting at 7 a.m.

Recreation Director Mark Delventhal said he was pleased with the volume of pass sales; outreach plans are in the works to encourage even more residents to join. In its , the city is counting on the sale of 375 seasonal and annual passes.
