New Sounds of Women up Front: Resonance Jazz Ensemble

Resonance Jazz, a one of a kind Bay Area jazz octet, performs at Piedmont Center for the Arts  for an 8pm concert on Saturday, October 6, 2012.

Resonance Jazz Ensemble casts women playing “up front” (rather than as typical background players ) marrying the sounds of this unusual jazz orchestration that includes strings and vocals.   Performances offer a rich composite of original standards by Steve McQuarry, Bandleader and creative arrangements of jazz standards, from Duke Ellington to George Gershwin, and Keith Jarrett.
