Rockridge Market Hall Picnic in the Street

With grills ablaze, Market Hall merchants take to the street at College and Shafter for the annual “Picnic in the Street” on Sunday, October 7, offering succulent foods, comparative tastings, wine tastings, a Chef Stage, and The Cookbook Exchange—bring a used cookbook and exchange it or buy used ones. Proceeds and remaining books benefit the Rockridge Public Library. Local artist Mattie Ignacio will be selling Cheese Box Art, reclaimed cheese crates turned into beautiful art fixtures, with a 100% of the proceeds will go to MOCHA (the Museum of Children's Art in Oakland). Fun and festive for the entire family, children’s activities feature a prize wheel, floral tattoos, pumpkin painting, and even a goat petting zoo.
The Chef Stage features free prizes, demonstrations, talks, and tastings from the Market Hall food experts. The Chef Stage is a one stop tasting tour of College Avenue with Rockridge district’s top chefs and mixologists from À Côté, Barclay’s, Bittersweet, Conga Lounge, Hudson, Nan Yang, Oliveto, Pasta Pomodoro, Paul Marcus Wines, Southies, Toast, and Wood Tavern.
