LITTLE KIDS

, Bayfair Center, Saturday, Dec. 11, 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m . Zion Lutheran Church is sponsoring this teen event, where your youngsters can meet at Chili's at the mall, and after dinner, go to the theaters to see Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader. The kids will be accompanied by adult drivers and chaperons.

, Lawrence Hall of Science, Sunday, Dec. 12, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. If you're looking to make mom or dad that one-of-a-kind present, here is your chance. At the Lawrence Hall of Science, kids can learn about electricity and then use L.E.D. to decorate a t-shirt (bring your own or buy one in the gift shop). This event is sure to spark interest in electricity fundamentals and creative play.

Funniest Bubble Show, The Marsh, Sunday, Dec. 12, 11:00 a.m. This celebrated bubble show has received glowing reviews from the SF Chronicle and the British Guardian newspaper. Bubbles of all sizes will be featured in this show, and some lucky kids in the audience may even find themselves inside one of the bubbles or even eating them!

BIG KIDS

, Piedmont High School, Thursday, Dec. 9, 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Young and old alike will enjoy the Winter Concert by the A Cappella Choir and the String Orchestra. With familiar tunes like Vivaldi's Gloria, this performance is sure to get you in holiday spirit.

, Chabot Space and Science Museum, Saturday, Dec. 11, 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Chabot Space and Science Museum hosts an evening of bistro-style dining with local chef fare, followed by the planetarium movie Tales of the Mayan Skies. Following the movie, those in attendance get to check out the large telescope and marvel at the winter sky.

Arabian Nights, Berkeley Repertory Theater, Saturday, Dec. 11, 8:00 p.m. It's the opening night of Arabian Nights at Berkeley Rep. This new retelling is vibrantly colorful and full of humor. Scheherazade's many stories will transport the audience to the land of genies and thieves.

 

KIDS AT HEART

, Piedmont Community Church, Friday, Dec. 10, 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The Adult Fellowship Christmas Party is a popular annual potluck where food and drink blend with lively conversation. Join together for some holiday cheer with old friends and new.

, Friday, Dec. 10, Berkeley Theater, 7:00pm - 10:00 p.m. Friday is the opening night of the holiday favorite The Nutcracker. Berkeley Theater's rendition, however, takes a new look at the classic story of Clara and her beloved nutcracker. Audiences will recognize some favorite melodies as well as the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Kingdom of Sweets.

Christmas Revels, Oakland Scottish Rite Center, Sunday, Dec. 12, 5:00 p.m. An alternative to ubiquitous Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol, Christmas Revels tells the story of a group of people who have a Christmas party while waiting for their boat to disembark. The performance will transport you back to the early 20th century with period costumes, dance numbers, and lively holiday music.
