Jazz at the Chimes - NUVO Chamber Trio

The NUVO Chamber Trio features expansive jazz re-interpretations
of late-Romantic classics by G. Faure and S. Rachmaninoff, Ladino folk
music, plus original Brazilian and Turkish compositions.  Rounding out the
repertoire includes a suite of blues works by Ornette Coleman, Thelonius Monk,
& McCoy Tyner along with a whimsical gypsy version of the Fats
Waller classic, Honeysuckle Rose.

Jazz at the Chimes is a concert series featuring Bay Area
talent and held at the Julia Morgan landmark Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland.
The Chapel provides a wonderful visual backdrop and acoustic listening venue
for live music in a setting like no other. Tickets $15 general; $10 seniors
& students: on sale at the door only. Cash only. Ticket sales begin at
12:30 pm; Doors open 1:30 pm. Limited seating!
