Jazz at the Chimes - Vocalist Kellye Gray

Jazz at the Chimes presents vocalist Kellye Gray, whose ‘voice as instrument’ brand
was crafted over years of live performance and taking chances. Time spent as an
improvisational comic actor and stand-up comic laid the creative groundwork for
scat singing and instrument simulation. With her stunning musicality and warm,
enveloping voice, Texas native Kellye Gray is one of the most
accomplished jazz vocalists on the national scene. Over her twenty-year career,
Gray’s profile has continued to grow by leaps and bounds, recording a half-dozen
albums as a leader and logging performances nationally and internationally at world-class
venues and festivals.

Jazz at the Chimes is a concert series featuring
Bay Area talent and held at the Julia Morgan landmark Chapel of the Chimes in
Oakland. The Chapel provides a wonderful visual backdrop and acoustic listening
venue for live music in a setting like no other. Tickets $15 general; $10
seniors & students: on sale at the door only. Cash only. Ticket sales begin
at 12:30 pm; Doors open 1:30 pm. Limited seating!
