Readmont 2014: Persepolis, a Memoir of Growing Up in Iran

"Persepolis," first published in 2004, was a New York Times "Notable Book" and was included in Time magazine's "Best Comix of the Year."

Readmont 2014, Piedmont’s community reading project, now in its fourth year, has been officially launched.

All Piedmonters are encouraged to read Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood by Marjane Satrapi, a memoir of the author’s young life in Iran during the 1979 revolution, told in graphic novel (comic book-style) format.

The book was the basis for a French-American animated film released in 2007.
